Everything you want to know beforehand — prices, timelines, technology, legal duties. Where the honest answer is “it depends”, we say what it depends on.

Short and honest

The three questions almost everyone asks first.

What does a website cost?

€1,250
Standard is €1,250 for up to 5 pages, Pro is €2,100 for up to 10 pages plus a blog. Larger projects are planned individually. The price is fixed in the quote before any work starts.

How long does it take?

2–6 weeks
A Standard website goes live in 2–4 weeks, a Pro project in 4–6 weeks. The most common cause of delay is missing text and images — not the build itself.

Who owns the website afterwards?

You do
Domain, hosting and website are registered in your name. You get every login and all the files. You can move to another agency at any time without starting from zero.
01

Cost & process

What it costs, how long it takes and what happens in which order.

There are two fixed-price packages: Standard at €1,250 (up to 5 pages) and Pro at €2,100 (up to 10 pages plus a blog). Larger projects — shops or multilingual sites, for instance — are quoted individually. The price is set out in the quote before the project starts and does not change afterwards as long as the scope stays the same.

Included are concept, design, build, mobile optimisation, the technical SEO groundwork and a handover session so you can carry on yourself. Not included are third-party running costs: domain, hosting, paid plugins or licences and purchased imagery. We name those items openly in the quote instead of adding them later.

Because shops differ too much: 20 products or 2,000, one payment provider or five, with or without a link to inventory and shipping systems. A flat rate would be either too expensive for you or unworkable for us. After the free first call you get a quote with a fixed price for your specific shop.

A Standard website takes 2–4 weeks, a Pro project 4–6 weeks. We agree the schedule together at the kickoff. Honestly, the duration depends less on us than on the content: if text, images and approvals arrive promptly, you land at the lower end of the range.

A free first call, then a quote with a fixed price and a schedule. Once you go ahead there is a kickoff covering goals, structure and content. Then design, your approval, the build, a joint testing phase and launch. You see work in progress and give feedback directly — there is no weeks-long black box.

It depends, and on three things: whether the site works properly on a phone, whether you can change content yourself, and whether any enquiries actually come through it. If the structure is sound and only the look is dated, a refresh is often enough. In the first call we tell you honestly which of the two routes is cheaper.

To start, a rough idea of your goals and your existing material: logo, images, any text you have, access to domain and hosting. You do not have to write the copy yourself — we take that on if you want. Exactly what we need and when arrives as a short list after the kickoff.

Technology & upkeep

What we build with, who owns what, and how the site stays in shape afterwards.

Usually WordPress — flexible, extensible and easy to maintain. For online shops we use WooCommerce or Shopify, depending on whether maximum freedom or the simplest possible day-to-day operation matters more to you. Design happens in Figma before a line of code is written.

Because WordPress is yours: your own data, a free choice of host, extensible without limit. Builders are convenient, but you rent your own website there and rarely get out again without losing data. If a builder is nevertheless the more sensible choice for your case, we say so in the first call.

Yes, and it is deliberately built that way. Text, images, prices, new blog posts — you change all of that yourself, without us. At handover you get a walkthrough on your own website. We are available for anything beyond that, but you are never obliged to use it.

You do. Domain and hosting are registered in your name, not ours, and you receive every set of credentials. You keep the usage rights to the content created for you. Exactly what is handed over is written into the quote — there is no arrangement that ties you to us.

WordPress needs regular updates, backups and an eye on security; that is not a sales pitch but the norm for any system with extensions. We take it on if you want. We deliberately do not quote a flat rate here, because it depends on scope — we agree it individually and in writing during the free first call.

We deliberately promise no number of seconds here, because it depends on content, imagery and your hosting — any agency guaranteeing a figure before it knows your project is guessing. What we do commit to is the method: a lean theme, few but good plugins, images in WebP, caching. We measure with PageSpeed Insights and optimise until the numbers are right.

Yes, and not as an add-on. More than half your visitors arrive on a smartphone, so we design mobile first and check every page on real devices — not just in a narrowed browser window. Controls are big enough for thumbs, text is readable without zooming.

At launch we set up backups so rolling back is always possible. If something goes wrong you write to us directly — you reach the person who built your website, not a ticket queue. How quickly we step in depends on whether ongoing support has been agreed.

Working together & aftercare

Who you actually deal with, how we work, and what happens after launch.

PixelPlan is an owner-run studio, not an agency machine. You have one fixed contact throughout — the same person who advises you, plans the site and builds it. No call centre, no shifting responsibilities, no handover to a junior once the contract is signed.

Yes. Our base is Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 27 in 63071 Offenbach am Main. We meet clients in person in Offenbach, Frankfurt and the wider Rhine-Main region; beyond that we look after clients across Germany entirely remotely. We have no other locations — and we do not claim any.

In the Rhine-Main region, gladly. Further afield the work runs by video call, phone and email, and in practice that works just as well: you save the travel, and you see work in progress online rather than in a meeting anyway.

Yes. Website copy and blog posts are written here with a clear search intent — readable for people, cleanly structured for Google. What we do not offer is photography: we work with your own images or properly licensed material, and we tell you where your own photos would make the biggest difference.

After launch you get your credentials and the walkthrough — from then on you can carry on alone. If you want, we stay on board for maintenance, updates, small changes and SEO. Both are fine; a support contract is not a condition for the website working.

No — and nobody reputable can. Google decides rankings, not the agency, and any guarantee of that kind is either a misunderstanding or misleading. What we do guarantee is solid work on what you can control: technology, structure, content, loading time and your Google Business Profile. That works over months, not days.

With a free, no-obligation first call of around 30 minutes. We talk through your plans, tell you honestly whether we are the right fit, and you then receive a fixed-price quote. After that you decide in your own time — there is no weekly chasing.

Legal & data

Imprint, GDPR, hosting and accessibility — what is required and who handles what.

For business websites in Germany: yes. The imprint is required by § 5 DDG, the privacy policy by the GDPR. Both are missing from a surprising number of company sites and are a favourite target for formal warnings. We embed both pages properly and link them from every page — the legally binding wording comes from you or your legal adviser.

We build with data protection in mind: hosting in the EU, no unnecessary third-party services, fonts and scripts served locally rather than from external servers, contact forms sparing in what they ask for. Whether your whole operation is GDPR-compliant also depends on processes beyond the website. We do not give legal advice — that is a lawyer’s job.

Only if services are used that require consent — analytics tools, embedded maps or third-party video, for example. We try to avoid exactly those services or replace them with privacy-friendly alternatives, so that no banner is needed at all. Where one is required, we set it up correctly: nothing pre-ticked to “accept all”.

We recommend and set up hosting inside the European Union, usually in Germany. German business clients ask about this regularly, and it avoids arguments about data transfers to third countries. The contract is in your name, so provider and costs stay in your hands.

That depends on who you serve: since June 2025 the German Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz sets binding requirements for certain consumer-facing services, above all in online retail. Whether you fall under it is for your legal adviser to determine. Either way we work to sufficient contrast, keyboard operability, meaningful alt text and clean, semantic HTML as a matter of course.
